The skein is just over 80 yards long, or around 73 meters. It was spun from a medium grade, domestic wool top with a fiber count of 54-56s (28-29 micron). This is a fine/sport weight yarn, with a WPI of 15 to 18. The recommended needle size is 3-5, and the gauge is 23 through 26 stitches for 4 inches. This yarn was spun from roving from jen8anne.
The wool was hand carded and hand spun, and has been soaked to fix the spin and make sure there is no more excess dye. Handwashing in cool water is the preferred method for washing any delicate hand knit or crocheted item, and it is best to lay it flat or hang it to dry rather than putting in a dryer. Some spots are thinner or thicker that others, the texture is unique and varied. Can be sent as a wrapped skein or in a ball.
This is a totally smoke-free and two kitties live with me, but nowhere near my work area.
