Marrakesh is named after the bead mix I used for the colorful portion of the rope. Sometimes I happen across a mix of colors I'd never think of combining on my own, and they just call out to me. That was the case with this mix, a beautiful combination of deep magenta, dark purple, pumpkin orange, and creamy gold. I paired the mix with smaller sand-colored beads that complement the brighter colors wonderfully. All the colors in Marrakesh call to mind the lush colors of North Africa.
This piece is made from Czech glass beads in two sizes and took many hours to complete. The beads are all color lined clear glass, giving them depth and richness.
This rope is the longest I've made to date, almost double the length of some of my others! It's a continuous loop (no clasp to fiddle with) that can be worn wrapped several times around your neck or many times around your wrist. Loop it through a donut focal to make a spectacular necklace, knot it, or just let it drape around your neck. It's very versatile!
