I embroidered the spine of this book with silk thread. Silk has a fantastic sheen and the colours really stand out beautifully. The leather used to be furniture samples, but I rescued it and reused it for this journal. It takes hours to embroider leather, every stitch its painfully slow, but comes out so wonderfully when it's done. The spine has very rich texture, and the Moroccan design is echoed in the pattern on the front and back covers done in relief under the leather. Inside is a rich dark green textured paper, and marbled paper that nicely matches the neutral leather.
Please remember, these books are unique, handmade, and delicate. The embroidery is very fine thread and should be treated with the respect it deserves!
Each one of my books is unique.
