Karl Blossfeldt was a professor in the 'Hochschul der Künste' here in Berlin about 100 years ago. He made these pictures to show as slides to his students, and he was 'discovered' by the owner of a gallery on the other side of the hardenberg street, who published two books for him that made him famous right away, 2 or 3 years before his death.
Blossfeldt was one of the chief reprasentatives of the 'neue sachlichkeit' movement in germany.
