Hello Darlings!
This is a Reserved listing! Please refrain from purchasing it.

I'M POSTING DOZENS OF NEW SWEATERS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2 @ 9PM NY TIME!

I will have all sizes (Small – XXXL) and NOTHING will be reserved! Woo hoo!

Become a Katwise fan on Facebook for a sneak peek.*

Due to the rather overwhelming attention my little shop has gotten (yay!) I am pretty swamped with convos (though I LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing from you!!)
Please do me the great favor of reading this listing BEFORE you send me questions. I try to answer all the basics here.

I also made a pretty thorough FAQ on my facebook page which addresses just about everything (like sizing etc…) It can be reached by copy/pasting this Link: bit.ly/katwisequestions

It may also be helpful to read my etsy “Policies".

I appreciate your cooperation in my effort to spend more time sewing and less time typing. ☺

About my Sweaters:

I started making recycled patchwork hoodies 20 years ago, while I was a wee gypsy girl, following the Grateful Dead. Since then my style has evolved and grown into this sweatery maddness. If you look at my sold listings you can see how they continue to morph and grow with each passing month. My elf coat design even seems to have inspired a wee bit of a trend here on etsy. Ooh la la.

I take a lot of pride in the quality of my sweaters. I am endlessly scouring thrift stores for the loveliest knits. My sweaters are cozy, flattering, and will never unravel. I use a top-of-the-line serger to make tight seams which I then hand finish. These confections are built to keep you bright and warm through years of rambling.

“Why is everything Reserved?”

Well, I have been selling my creations on etsy for the past 5 years, and gotten such a loyal following. (yay! I love you guys!) My sweaters tend to get snapped up as soon as I post them.

The Reserved items you see are on layaway for folks who needed a little extra time to get the $$ together. They are confusing. Just look at the pretty pictures and smile, but don’t try too hard to decode them. The prices often reflect partial payments, so I do not wish to mislead anyone. Hoodies average around $80, and coats can got from $150 all the way to $400+ if it is uber deluxe. The average coat price is about $250.

How do I get one?

It is all first come-first serve. There is no waiting list, no custom orders.

If YOU want your very own Katwise sweater, the best way to get one is to come to my shop exactly when I am posting new stuff. Every 10 days or so I do a BIG posting with around 30 new sweaters, and NOTHING IS RESERVED. It is like the giant sweater piñata breaks open, and you just have to grab whatever sings your name. And Yes, there are lots of Plus sized sweaters for all you Goddesses out there.

I announce the posting time at the top of my shop, and I will give sneak peek photos on facebook. If you “like” Katwise on Facebook, you can be kept in the loop and join the crazy discussions:

And if you are one of the precious hold outs who still doesn’t have facebook ( I salute you!) you can still go to this link to have a look.

Please, hear me scream: *I DO NOT DO CUSTOM ORDERS.*
Hold one, one more time: *I DO NOT DO CUSTOM ORDERS!!!!!*
Please Please Please respect my decision as an artist not to do that, and refrain from trying to persuade me. It breaks my heart to always have to say no, because i am a big softee and i love you.

About Me:

My name is Kat. I am a crazy-yet-calm hitchhiker girl who has circled the globe too many times to count. I have always found new ways to thrive on my art and costumes. I strive to infuse everything I do with a sense of celebration. It is my hope that you put on something I make and feel some of that spirit coming through.

I just bought a crazy old farm Near Woodstock, NY which I am in the process of painting a million zillion colors (you can see pics on facebook)….I often refer to it as “the house that Sweaters Built” because I couldn’t have even dreamed of doing it without YOU.

I hope you will take a moment to have a wander around my shop. Also, if you are looking to waste a little time, my labyrinthine website has lots of silly stories and arty distractions. You can see some of my crazy art cars, over the top costumes, and read about the time I hitchhiked to Timbuktu:

Most of all I want to say THANK YOU for the overwhelming love I have gotten on etsy. It is so incredibly life affirming for me to be able to follow my heart and have my creations received with such enthusiasm. I feel really humbled and grateful. Thank you thank you! A million thank yous!! I will sew my heart out for you guys!!
