The Gallic chain uses an “Open” chainmail pattern believed to have originated from 4th Century Gaul. Also, this “Open” chainmail pattern is in keeping with the traditions of Gallic Art, which avoid straight lines and use over-and-under interlacing patterns.

The Gallic chain comes in 2 sizes: Large - 8mm, and Small - 4mm.

Each chain is an Original, can be made in either 14K or 18K, and comes in a variety of colors, sizes, and patterns, including Yellow Gold, White Gold, Red or Rose Gold, and Green Gold. The variations for each handmade chain are numerous.

Item description: Gallic Chainmaille Necklace is made from solid 14K Yellow, Red and Green Gold. The color change is subtle and beautiful. It compliments every skin tone. This chain comes with a 14K Yellow swivel lobster clasp. (However, the clasp in the picture is a 14K Yellow and Diamond Exchangable Clasp, which is available upon request.) This pattern take approximately 30 hours to "weave" by hand. This pattern is slightly stiff and creates a circular look around the neck. However, this chain is also very comfortable, with enough give that it will not pinch, bind, or snag your hair or clothing. This chain is 16 inches long but can be made longer or shorter.
