The 10-cent Energy Conservation commemorative stamp was first placed on sale at Detroit, Michigan, on September 23, 1974. This issue focused attention upon the urgent national problem of energy conservation.
The stamp was designed by Robert W. Bode and was issued in sheets of fifty, with an initial printing of 140 million. I was not able to find the name of the artist who designed the poster.
I have researched and never found any USPS posters for sale of the internet so they must be scarce. It’s difficult to set a price when there are no similar items to reference but I chose a price I feel is good for an item of this age and importance.
This is a large poster measuring 30" W X 39.5" L. It is marked as GPO (Government Printing Office) Poster 327 number 0-555-148 and is dated 1974.
Your poster will be shipped flat folded as found in last photo in a bend proof envelope marked do not bend.
As always thank you for stopping by and please have a look around and stop by again soon. I have many more interesting vintage paper items to list.
