The print is made from an original watercolor "Fragile Planet", a gridded image comprised of 196 squares. Each square shows a plant, an animal, a flower, an insect, a vegetable, a human element, water, or other symbol of life on earth. I have created images that resonate with me; many are native to my neck of the woods. I have shown the planet from the "Americas" view, and hope that doesn't detract from my overall theme of the interconnectedness -- and fragility --of life on the planet.
This image was the official logo for the Earth Day Festival 2010 in The Woodlands, Texas.
Other sizes are available. Scroll down for the listing of the 16" x 16" giclee at $100. The original size was 30" x 30" and the print looks magnificent at full size! I just sold my only full sized print locally, but it only takes a few days to get another one made. Convo me if you are interested in any other sizes. Thanks for looking!
