The piece is done on a wood base that was sealed first. Garnet toned beads enhance the sheen on the apple while the overall stunning effect is created with Van Gogh stained glass tiles that are hand cut.
5" high, 4" in diameter, this apple is highly reflective with the Van Gogh stained glass and garnet iridescent glass beads. the crisp shine and color gives it the illusion that one could bite right into such a delectable candy apple. It's a great addition on a shelf alone, or in a faux fruit display to add a touch of dazzle.
The piece is finished off with a few light coats of lacquer for the additional gloss.

Story behind the piece:
"Emilio's Apple" is a work that is inspired by one who inspires others.
My brother-in-law , Emilio, has been a teacher in the California schools for a number of years. Emilio also coached football for his local high school team. My brother-in-law worked hard to achieve his American citizenship and is an aspiration to all. This piece of art is done to honor teachers around the globe that like Emilio, work so hard to inspire our students.
