"Swimming with the Jellies"

Delicate legs dip unsuspectingly into a sea of jellyfish.

The inspiration for this print came from both my love for and fear of jellyfish. While I adore their flowing forms when viewed from a distance, I can't help but remember multiple jellyfish stings from my past.

This two-color print was made using the woodblock reduction method on cotton rag paper. I started by carving my original illustration into a block of wood. I then rolled a layer of ink over the block and used a press to transfer the first color onto the paper. Then I carved further detail into the same block of wood and repeated the inking process with the dark blue color.

The print is signed, dated and titled on the back. The image size is approximately 10.75" x 15.5". The frame shown in the last photo is not included.

This is the last remaining print in this limited edition. Only 14 prints of this design were created.
