Hiroshi Awatsuji Fabric

This bright and vibrant fabric was designed by Hiroshi Awatsuji. I purchased this great piece of fabric from an estate sale on Martha's Vineyard. It was being used as a wall-hanging. I had plans to create a few handbags or pillows with it, but I love it so much (as a whole) that I'm having a hard time cutting it. Maybe you'll have more success taking a pair of scissors to it. I am not positive of the year it was printed, but it may be vintage.

The following is from wikipedia about Mr. Awatsuji -

"Hiroshi Awatsuji (粟辻博, Awatsuji Hiroshi?, 1929 - 1995), was a Japanese textile designer. After World War II, he produced numerous innovative designs which inspired the beginning of a new era. His works are characterized by the use of vivid colors and daring compositions which combine Japanese traditional arts and Western textile design."
