A few months ago I was spending a happy afternoon doing one of my fave things........ trawling Etsy for inspiration and new pretties.
Well I came across this most fabulous vintage flocked toy deer and just had to have it and its made a home in my little hatting studio ever since. For Christmas my wonderful fella bought me Mark Ryden's "Tree" book as I just adore all his work. Whilst thumbing through the book I came across a painting which hit me with inspiration like a hammer to the head..... "Allergory Of The Four Elements"
this hat is the result.
A sinamay base covered in modeling lichen to create a little green glade for my deer to sit in............... and don't worry the deer has been shot with arrows but he's ok he will just have a nasty limp when he gets better.
This hat is a real show piece...... think ascot.......... this hat is not for a shrinking violet its for those who want to be seen and noticed!
