This amazing typewriter was no longer functioning and would have been a complete overhaul to fix. Don't worry all of you fellow typewriter lovers...kids played with this an mangled the type bars and it wouldn't even type a single letter. So, I gave it a new life as a functioning MP3 player/iPod case perfect for display in your home or office. This was no easy task it took many hours to complete and it was difficult to take out the inside where the type bars usually lay to create enough space for the speakers to fit inside while leaving the outside of the typewriter looking like a typewriter should. The holder that encases the MP3 player was actually made out of the spool holder and then the clip in front is actually the metal piece that would normally have held your ribbon. The typewriter has been covered in thin strips of copper as well as the speaker cases.
This piece was shown at the Steampunk art exhibit at the Bergen Art Gallery and made the local news. And, this made the front page of Etsy when it was in my other shop.
Sorry this does not come with my MP3 player only the typewriter, case, and the speakers are included. :)
