I wanted the sun to truly be the centerpiece of this necklace, so I kept the treatment relatively simple. I created a beaded bezel to hold the cab, using shiny metallic bronze Czech glass beads and a technique called right angle weave (RAW). I also used some tiny black beads to highlight the front edge of the bezel, and I added matte gold beads around the entire circumference in a picot technique.
The ndebele rope (aka tubular herringbone) is made of a mixture of the shiny metallic bronze and the matte gold beads. The last photo shows the back, which I covered with leather, so it will feel soft against your skin.
This piece may be simple, but it will still garner some attention when you wear it.
