Display it in your library (or in a child's nursery).
In the Victorian era taxidermy was displayed in the oddest places. Often animals would be depicted in human clothing or as story book characters. Certainly it was an era without PETA ;)
The Background of the piece was painted with water colors.
The illustrations are from an old copy of the story.
The hare mask is an actual preserved hare face. Throughout the piece turtle shell fragments pose as rocks, these were salvaged from a roadkill turtle.
The path is lined with Lovely Colorado rocks that I collected from my yard.
This piece actually received notable mention on Regretsy!
Which has increased the traffic to my page and given me a nice giggle. Enjoy the comments there :)
To celebrate the mention... the piece is on sale for $75.00 now :)
(ps. Apparently since I used an already dead "bunny" in my art piece.. I shouldn't be allowed offspring!)
