The Penn. Dutch paint circles with motifs similar to these on their barns. The Scandinavians use this motif everywhere.
The red white and blue is so crisp and clean.
This is enamel on copper. The back is enamelled black but has wear chips here and there. The copper pin works perfectly.
The label is still partially there.
It reads: ARTA Handmade Ausria.
I figure vintage 1960s. Could be a little earlier or even a little later.
The navy and red painting are intact in the painting.
The last layer to be applied was the gold and that is a little worn but only shows when really getting within an inch and eyeballing it tightly.
While pinned on a collar or purse or dress, there seems to be nothing wrong. A little age wear only! Provenance spots!
The oval is 1 5/8" long by 1 1/4" high.
Nice feminine peasant piece. A good crossover from Hippie to Classic to patriotic red white and blue!
