In the late forties Walter Bosse began to create countless animal brass miniatures in which he showed his admiration for the various forms of creatures.
This set seems to be made of pewter with an overall black colored finish that has been partially factory removed to enhance the surface detailing.

In excellent vintage condition. It seems that it has not been used.
