They are made of poplar and 3 1/2" nails. The wood that I got for these was really pretty and I hated to cover it with stain so these sets are natural wood sealed with a clear coat for a smooth finish. They work very well to fluff open fiber prior to carding and also work great to use as hackles.
I have to say that the more I use them the more I like them! They are easy to carry with you and they are light on your hands! They are also a bit less intimidating that the sets with longer tines!
