The rack part sits on top of the tray, and when you cut the bread the crumbs fall neatly inside.
I didn’t have a purpose for the racks, and they sat in the garage for a while. One day I figured they could be used as jewelry organizers, and there you have it.
I painted this rack a bright blue purple, which I believe is officially called Blurple. If you look closely, you can see the scars from many knives, which gives it character. This is hard wood, possibly maple, and it was difficult to nail the upholstery tacks on it. You can hang many necklaces, earrings and bracelets on this rack, and it will bring a spot of color to any wall. Its low profile also allows it to be placed inside a closet door, for example. It measures about 16 ¼ x 8 ¼ x ¾ inches (~ 41 x 21 x 2 cm), and it comes with attached, homemade hardware, ready to be hung.
I am happy that I transformed this rack into a pretty, neat, and eco-friendly jewelry hanger!
