The dress is in excellent condition, while the jacket is in very good condition – there is one small dark spot on an orange flower on the front of the dress bodice, but this blends into the pattern. The jacket has no visible stains, but 3 of the 5 buttons show some wear on the fabric.
There is no label in either the dress or jacket that identifies the designer. There is an ILGWU union tag in the jacket. According to the Vintage Fashion Guild’s label resource, based on the design of this union tag, this dress was made between 1955 and 1963.
There is also a small label in the dress that says “Size 9.” However, this is NOT an accurate modern size. This outfit is petite and though I could zip it up as a size 4, I could not comfortably put my hand on my hip. This outfit would best fit a size 0 – 2. Be sure to check the measurements below against your own, and be sure to add a little extra room or “ease” so you can breathe.
