I've been wondering for a while if I would ever make a bag so big that you could hide inside in case of emergency. Now I am glad I did.
One of these duffles was my family beach bag this Summer. Inside you will be able to carry a beach blanket(we use a queen size quilt,)5 beach towels, bathing suits for 5, and a cosmetic bag. The zippered outside pocket will hold sunscreen. The outside pouch pocket can hold cell phones or sunglasses.
When I flew to Seattle the other day, I tried it out as my carry-on and it worked great. I think I was the best looking traveler in the airport. As far as carrying on an airplane though, you have to be aware not to load it to full capacity, so it will fit in the overhead bin. I had no problem at all.
The handles are made of jute webbing which is exteremly strong stuff that I also use in my upholstery work. I covered them partially with fabric to make them comfortable to hold, but left the edges showing because it looks great.
The fabric is quilted for added strength.
