So when it came time to make my own Easter egg, I didn't want just another boring hollow chocolate egg--instead, I wanted something that combined my fond memories of a solid chocolate egg and my love for truffles. What I have made is the best of those two worlds: an Easter egg made solid with layers of peanut butter truffle ganache, milk chocolate, and white chocolate.
This is a substantial treat by any measurements--it is roughly 700g in weight, 5.5" x 3.5" in length. This is not an egg that you should ever try to just eat in a single sitting (not that I would judge you if you tried), but rather one that you can slice off into servings and share with your friends.
I made this with a combination of white and milk chocolate because it's my favourite mix, but if you have a chocolate preference, just let me know and I'll customise it for you.
