Each bag was cut into a single continuous strip for a smooth consistent plarn, then joined together with a knot for strength.

The last photo shows an example of the how the plastic yarn knits up with a sample of similarly made plastic yarn.
Plastic bag yarn, or Plarn, is a unique material to work with, and a fun way to give plastic bags a new life.*
(* I personally don't save plastic bags, and encourage others to use re-usable cloth bags when ever possible. But sometimes plastic bags happen to the best of us, and sometimes receive donations from others. However, this also means that I have a limited quantity of plastic bag yarn available.)
