It is made a softly colorful fabric, reminiscent of vintage flowery wall papers and fresh sunny mornings.
At the center of the brooch, a covered button featuring a blooming rose and encircled by a few white sequins, topped with golden yellow seed beads.
And then, all along the edges of the brooch, I embroidered climbing flowers and roses, with a delicate variegated silk ribbons in blushing rose tones. The stems are made from an olive green cotton thread using chain stitches. Both flowers and stems are embellished with small chartreuse cut seed beads, and seed beads in various shades of pink and white, often set on top of tiny and bigger pink sequins.
The embroidered lily pad is then hand sewn with pink and green thread onto a piece of sap green cotton, making it a very lightweight brooch, perfect for all your spring and summer garments (though obviously you can wear it whichever season takes your fancy).
This brooch is about 8.5cm (3.5") by 7cm (2"3/4, at its widest point). There is a 4cm (1"1/2) metal pin sewn at the back so there's plenty of room to attach it to anything, including a scarf, sweater, coat, hat, etc...
This pin is unique and one of a kind. That said, I could make a similar one upon request.
