This is a dramatic necklace for the woman with a bit of theater to her...Roman, Greek, Egyptian, or even older...
History is in it's making...two Venetian beads from Mali, one a brilliant orange wedding bead and one in ruby-red glass. Two walnut beads, hand-carved by Popcorntree.etsy.com, accent the collarbone, and two round black agate beads and two green glass flower beads grace the shoulder. For an astonishing dash and contrast I have added some fiber-art elements in Bedouin hand-embroidery on black stitched to turquoise linen. The central element is embellished with firey amber wool. The two ochre beads around the central element are said to be made from ceramic, and are an antique form of money in Israel.
All the elements are knotted securely on extremely durable waxed cotton cord, and the necklace closes with a hand-woven loop and a buffalo horn button.
Fits loosely around the collar.
The length of the necklace is 17.5 inches. It would fit a neck up to 15 inches (measured at the base of the neck). This is because you want to have a bit of allowance for it to fall correctly.
