Each glove begins with a garter stitch cuff worked back and forth in rows, then stitches are picked up along the edge of the cuff, and the hand is worked in the round. One edge of the cuff has a shaped zigzag edge, a design element which is echoed in the texture pattern worked just below the ribbed band at the upper edge of the hand. The triangular thumb gusset is also worked in garter stitch, before the thumb is worked in 1x1 Rib.
