Simple Intarsia Beret - with basic Intarsia instructions and hints included. It is basically stripes with some free-form intarsia additions. It will create a unique beret using loved colours and yarns in small amounts and gives the opportunity to start to learn a new technique as well as using some textured or fancy yarns in small sections. A little stash buster design.
I have included a basic instruction for knitting intarsia to encourage a knitter towards free form knitting, as well as knitting in the round information. A small creation like a beret is great for trying a new technique.
The berets are knitted in the round from the k1 p1 rib band. Decreases are by purling stitches together to give the design that can be seen on the red beret. The berets do include an I cord nub. It can be finished without the nub if wished.
The needle sizes I used are 4mm & 3.75mm circular needles and 1 set dpn's size 4mm. In US sizes these are 6 & 5.
