Rudolph Steiner (Waldorf education) called rhythm the 'carrier of life' and believed that young children benefit from consistency of routine.

This set of seven little gnomes (3" tall) will help you and your little ones mark the rhythm of the week.

In Waldorf practice each day of the week is marked by a specific colour:
PURPLE Monday
RED Tuesday
YELLOW Wednesday
ORANGE Thursday
GREEN Friday
BLUE Saturday
WHITE Sunday

Wearing and incorporating that colour on 'its' day will help create a rhythmic pattern to daily life, even as seasonal celebrations mark the broader sweeps of time. Put your little gnome for the day in your play or learning space, use him in storytelling and play... made for little hands!

100% wool, firmly needlefelted.
Set includes 7 gnomes (with various skin tones and 7 different coloured beards!), and a hand stamped muslin drawstring bag for storage.
**Please note that the set you will recieve will be very similar to the set pictured, with some difference in the assignment of skin tone and beards ~ that is, which gnome has which bard and skin colour will vary).
Due to the beards, the gnomes will require gentle hands, and are best suited for children age 3 and up.

Needlefelting is the process of turning raw wool fiber into felt with thousands (and thousands) of jabs with a special needle. It is a timestaking process and we use only high quality, hand dyed fibers to create heirloom quality toys.
