I drew inspiration from Frida Kahlo's art to make this art box. I created this piece on a flat wooden box. I used an image from one of Frida's famous self-portraits. The images are from old books. The surface was painted in a soft metallic aqua paint. Decorated with a quote from Frida's diary. Spectacular antiquish finish created with pastels and inks. Embellished with hand-painted and carved desigs. The wood on the inside was painted in metallic copper. Original and unique. One of a kind. I do not repeat my designs. It measures 8.25 diam. x 1.75 inches. Signed and dated. (Flor Larios 2010).
