*READY TO SHIP*
This necklace represents a labour of love. Having been inspired by some beautiful gems, which I have incorporated into this piece, I spent a solid number of hours creating Ophelia in the Water.
A little on the process- I formed a lovely spiral from thick gauge sterling silver wire, which I then carefully hammered flat for strength and style, to create my frame. I then wrapped very fine gauge sterling silver wire around and around, and around, incorporating some small loops for me to use later. Once this was complete I attached the following stunning gemstones:
~ AAA Blue Sapphire - stunningly translucent
~ AAA Lapis Lazuli - with flashes of pyrite (foolsgold)
~ AAA Pyrite (fool's gold) - onion briolettes
~ AAA Smoky Quartz - sharp little briolettes
~ AAA Rock Crystal Quartz including the focal, a flawless dagger, which I have repeated in a number of designs now
~ AAA White Topaz roundelles
~ AAA Flashy Black Spinel
The necklace includes lovely solid sterling silver cable chain, and an extender chain finished with more AAA black spinel and white topaz and a hand formed and hammered spiral clasp. You will also notice lengths of 14kt goldfill chain hanging from the pendant, just because!
The entire creation was then oxidised organically, overnight, rinsed, dried, and lovingly polished to reveal the depth and detail you see in the photographs.
