This one-of-a-kind paper cut design was made using an old map of the Olympic Peninsula and the Olympic National Park in Washington and serves as an example of a special place the wedding couple chose for their wedding, or where their engagement took place. Your custom map heart cutout will be mounted to a wooden display block as pictured in the example and sealed with paint brush strokes for texture & protection. The designs is a freehand cut out & features an interpretation of a heart's anatomy carefully extracted from an original map with an x-acto knife.
Each heart cut design featured in my shop http://www.papercutworks.etsy.com is very unique - map hearts specifically are determined by the content of the sheet I'm working with & can not be recreated. Wooden blocks make unique sturdy decor pieces - you can display them sitting on a shelf or hanging on the wall. This cradled birch block frame measures 4" by 4" and is 1" thick. Paper cut art mounted to the wood is protected by a sealant for durability and gives this piece a painting-like finish as it is applied with brush strokes.
