Who's Piet Mondrian?
Mondrian was a vital component of the De Stijl (or neoplasticism) movement. Mondrian's works consist of basic forms such as squares, rectangles, and bold lines combined with primary colors.
This print was inspired by Mondrian's De Stijl style and features Mondrian in the foreground in black set against a white Mondrianesque background featuring bold black horizontal and vertical lines and red, yellow, and blue rectangles. Mondrian's words remind us that art, while not necessarily made for anyone specific is at the same time made for everyone.
