This is a beautiful, Victorian inspired necklace featuring a Victorian era portrait of a medical student with a skeleton and skull. The portrait is from an original photo in my personal collection of medical oddities and truly one of the most iconic medical photos ever in existence. The pendant measures approximately 1.5 inches by 1.25 inches. The filigree setting, chain, and accents are all antiqued brass. The chain measures approximately 18 inches and could be adjusted to be shorter. This lovely piece comes gift-boxed, making it an excellent present. I have noted the patinas of the metal, because monitors vary, and I want to ensure that the piece is accurately presented.
I find inspiration in victorian ephemera, art nouveau and art deco, and the fantastical worlds of science fiction such as those portrayed by H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. I am a great fan of Victoriana and esoteric imagery, particularly anatomica and the macabre.
