The sashiko stitched kanji is my own pattern.
The lunch box is a Lube Sheep brand red Urara series bunny rabbit bento box. The top of the box is 330ml and the bottom holds 250 ml, for a total of 580ml. Great size for a kid's or ladies lunch.
I designed my bento bags originally to accommodate a 500ml 2 tier Japanese bento style lunch box and a bottle of water or juice for my son. (Also will hold a longer bento box, but you'll have to put drinks on top of the box.) The bag folds up small enough to be tucked in a purse or pocket for storage.
** What I love about using bento boxes and reusable bags **
- It's a great gauge for how much my son should be eating. When packed properly, this sized lunch box will provide him enough calories and yet he usually eats everything in the box. I know he gets a healthy lunch!
- It's also a great measure for my own lunches. I find the bento box method very handy for helping me watch my weight and count calories. If packed properly the number of milliliters is approximately the number of calories in your lunch.
- You know what your kids eat. If my son doesn't eat something it comes home and I can talk with him about it and see if he doesn't like that food anymore.
- Its better for the environment! Lunch waste is reduced drastically. I rarely use disposable plastic bags, cups or plastic silverware anymore.
- You can save money! I don't buy many of the expensive prepackaged convenience foods anymore.

Reusable linen and cotton bag - so it's eco-friendly. Also washer and dryer friendly. (I recommend buying 2 bags at a time, so you can have one to use and while one is in the wash.)

9 1/2" (24.1 cm) tall to handles
12" (30.5 cm) tall with handles
5 1/2" (13.9 cm) wide at base
Machine wash. Tumble dry.
Band is designed for the lunch box included in this set.
Box dimensions:
6.2in x 3.3in x 3.3in(160mm x 84mm x 85mm)
Materials - polypropylene, polyethylene, styrol
Microwave ok with out the lid.
Personally, I don't microwave my bento boxes. And I hand wash them - though it's quick and easy to do. My boxes have survived the dishwasher in the top rack, but the top "seal" will warp over time and the design gets scratched off.
