Leaf measures about an inch tall.
How are the leaves made? Each leaf is handpicked and soaked in an acidic solution that dissolves the meaty parts of the leaf, leaving only the veins and edges (some are left solid). Afterwards, the leaf is brushed with a copper-based paint to conduct electricity. The leaf is then dipped in 24k gold, sterling silver, or copper, and when the right voltage is applied, the metal binds to the leaf - creating a beautiful piece of handmade jewelry!
