It is framed in a lovely vintage wooden frame with oval matting and doily trim inside the matting. I am unsure of the age of the silhouette engraving. The frame is definitely antique or vintage. It is apparent that the original paper covering on the back of the frame was slit open and that the engraving replaced something that was originally there.
This piece would certainly have a lovely and prominent presence wherever it is hung. There is a wire on the back for hanging. I put some masking tape on the back to reinforce the frame contents as a couple of the nails holding the backing in place are missing. The wooden frame shows a bit of wear/rubbing along the edges. Otherwise, this piece is in great vintage condition!
