I became rather obsessed with these two after seeing it.
Beautiful earrings portraying the famous writer George Sand (Aurora Dudavant)...a woman with special compensation by the French govt in the 1800's to wear men's clothing.....and the brilliant and frail Frederick Chopin...a man who made a single instrument sing with the voices of angels.
She pursued him rather hotly...he was a reluctant lover...the courtship was a true reversal of gender roles for the era, and whilst it didn't last forever...it was a rather extraordinary romance.
