I designed this "Over the Top" canvas to honor Kelly Rouba. Kelly was only two years old when she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). As she got older, the disease claimed more of her mobility. And yet, instead of succumbing to her illness, Kelly chose to become an advocate for people with all types of disabilities. Kelly recently published a book called "Juvenile Arthritis: The Ultimate Teen Guide". This piece is inspired by Kelly and the colors she used on the cover of her book.

Like all my “Over the Top” canvases this special piece is a combination of all the art I have been creating over the past six years. It is like my colorful, three-dimensional glass designs but on canvas. Each piece is created using bright acrylic “oops!” paint (mistake paint purchased at home improvement stores) and funky flowers made from scrap Plexiglas and old signs. Each flower is hand-painted.

30% from the sale of this item will be donated towards research for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
