About the bag:
This fabric is a tea stained cotton with a linen look. I soaked it in tea for 12 hours - promptly shut the washer (forgetting to remove the tea bags) and found a nice surprise when the cycle finished. This worked out though - after 3 washings the fabric achieved an awesome nubby quality (and lost all those tea leaves).
Next, screened on a print of a Great Egret soaring over waves. The nubby fabric really made this print amazing! Kind of aged and shabby in a great way.
This bag came about because of the print. The top is gathered as opposed to pleated like most of my bags. This was so all the image would be visible and not lost in any folds.
Inside is lined with my favorite steel grey cotton twill. A row of 3 large slip pockets and a key hook too.
