With a nod to the traditional fair isle colours of red, yellow and blue, I also used grey cashmere, deep rust orange, dark brown, olive green and light blue. I went with natural fibres - Rowan cashmere and Scottish Tweed wool, and some of the range from Rennie’s lambswool blends.
The scarf would look great draped casually around the neck or crossed over under a buttoned up coat or jacket, with the pattern just peeking out under the collar. The underside of the scarf has all the stranding, but as the edges curl in naturally the strands are not so obvious.
Dimensions: Just over 4 feet long (approx 120cm) and approx 8 inches wide (20cm). Two colour ribbing at each end, in Rowan grey cashmere and Rennie’s lambswool and cashmere blend in light blue. Side edges left to curl inwards naturally. Stranding on underside. Pre-washed in wool soak and allowed to dry naturally.
Hand wash with care in a wool soak or mild soap, do not agitate otherwise felting may occur, and dry naturally away from direct heat. Should not be tumble dried.
