We smoothed all the edges so that it will not catch on your shawl.
The butterfly measures about 3 1/8- 3 1/2" (8-8.9cm) from the top of it's antennas to the bottom of it's wings. It measures about 2 3/4-3" (7 - 7.6cm) across the wings. The pin that goes through the butterfly measures about 3 1/2" (8.9cm).
Your butterfly pin will arrive wrapped in colorful tissue paper, in a nice gift box and tied with a bow ready for gift giving.

The pin in the pictures is a representative pin and not the exact same one that you will receive. We hand make each pin and try hard to make them look the same. There may be some minor differences but the one you will receive will look very similar to the one you see in the pictures.
Sometimes a gray mark may be left on the exit and entrance points of the pin on a light colored garment due to the abrasive nature of wool on aluminum.
