I found an aluminum pipe that screamed contemporary pencil holder/brush holder/dried flower holder! I've left the original paint/patina as is and just cleaned up the inside and out with a eco-friendly degreaser. The edges have been ground down to a smooth finish and I cut 1/2" plugs out of MDF (medium density fiber board) for the bottom. The bottoms have been painted both inside and out with urethane to protect against wear and tear. This is NOT a waterproof vase.
These holders are lightweight and perfect for holding a stash of goodies. Not only that, these babies give off an aire of modern day eco-sheikness that are truly one of a kind marvels.
