The India collection is inspired by my recent trip to (you guessed it) India, where I saw an explosion of color, pattern, and ornamentation. I've made some intricate and colorful prints for super soft cotton tee shirts! This one ended up looking like a cross section of lacy geologic strata, even though it was originally inspired by a man in a zigzag striped sweater I spotted on a train platform in Rajasthan. It is printed on a super soft Alternative Apparel 100% cotton scoopneck sleeveless tee.
I print these by hand with the tee shirts pinned to a table, with nothing inside of them to prevent ink from printing the inside back of the tee. This creates a nice effect - there is a faint bleed through of the pattern on the back of the shirt along the lines of the scoopneck.
