The witch's own recipe of Hyssop & Rue Floor Wash can be used to purify and uncross a home, apartment, or business that has been cursed, haunted, or has had bad events occur within it. It can also be used to drive out evil spirits or unwelcome ghosts. As the herbs Hyssop and Rue also have a long history of spiritual purification this Floor Wash is also perfect to use for cleansing a temple room, altar, or new piece of furniture that will be used for an altar. As we rootworkers and witches practice magic and ritual in the same room over and over again energy builds up until it is so thick there is no room to create new energy - this is the time to cleanse the room or altar to purify it and start anew - letting go of past workings, spells, and rituals. If you work with spirits of the dead or practice invocation of the dead or deities the witch also recommends to use this Floor Wash to spiritually cleanse the room to be used before and after to protect yourself and to cut any ties to yourself after you've banished.

Cleaning house wasn't always just physical - in pre-Christian times cleaning was also thought to be magical as it removed evil spirits that could cause bad luck or illness. Today magical floor washes are a common part of spiritual cleansing and are found in modern Hoodoo/Rootwork and folk magic as a regular practice. It is best to spiritually cleanse your home or ritual space once a month by washing the floors and walls with a magical solution of herbs and a small amount of floor wash can also be added to your regular cleaning products if you are using it to clean your entire house.
