Calligraphy as a hobby:
Sumi ink on wood is chic. I think a bit of ink bleeding is wabi sabi, the natural beauty.
So I use the black cotton thread rather than the baker's twine.
This paper stock is called "yukihira". A mix of Japanese washi and yohshi, having snowy freckles on its super smooth surface.
(How to enjoy)
1. write or draw + valley fold, twice = A2 envelope.
2. ink + wood card +clothpin = organic&retro style.
3. AND hand pointer rubber stamp is fun.
Including (quantity):
Japanese nib (2)
Mahogany penholder (1)
Sumi ink
Italian card&envelope (1 sets)
Japanese paper (5, white, light blue, cream. 5.75x11.5")
Black thread
Wood cards (20 pcs, maple veneer 2"x3.5')
Wood clothpins (2" 10pcs)
Rubber stamp (1) inkpad not included
{NIB}
This Japanese nib is the best to create both of ultra fine hairlines and strong shades.
White house calligraphers use it, and Michael Sull's favorite nib, of course.
Nibs are burnt or washed by a ultra sonic washer machine.
{SUMI}
Sumi ink from the finest sumi craftsman in Nara, Japan. Extremely smooooth-liquid. Absolutely different from others (calligraphy ink, student-level sumi/watercolor/ gouache).
The empty jar is for your favorite ink, watercolor or gouache.
*
Due to the finest quality of sumi, please pay your extra attention, open the lid in a safe place to avoid risk of stain and/or leak.
Please do not purchase this kit, if this sumi risk is not acceptable for you!
*
The rubber stamp does not have the backing form. It will be additional $1.
