I made this one-of-a-kind piece out of guitar strings, silver wire, vintage lace, and enamel, using a technique I invented. It depicts the bride and groom running on a giant flower, chasing a dragonfly.
The flower is painted in shades of pearlescent purple. The Bride wear a gown made from vintage lace, a veil, and she holds flowers in her hand. The groom wears a black suit and holds a butterfly net. The dragonfly hovers above the flower, on a sturdy silver wire, as if flying. The dragonfly, with its heart shaped wings, represents that ideal, perfect love... something worth chasing.
The topper stands on a enameled green base, it stands 8" tall x 4.5" wide x 4" deep.
One idea would be to have real flowers adorning the top of the cake and then this sculpture bursting through them as the centerpiece.
After the wedding, the cake-topper becomes a sculptural memento of your wedding day, something to keep forever.
I would make yours to order, with the following details customized to fit those of your wedding:
The outfits of the bride and groom,
The color of the big flower, and the bouquet,
The color of the base,
The size of the whole piece could be bigger or smaller depending on your cake.
If you would like any other details changed, it can be done, please contact me (etsy convo) with questions!
