This pretty embroidered, beaded piece of satin looked like it could be a necklace, although it took several tries to get it to actually hang properly. But now it's just right. (And I may be eligible for an honorary engineering degree from MIT for figuring it out, but that's a whole other story.)

The piece combines fabric with beautiful silver embroidery, rhinestones and beads with handmade flowers from a different piece of embroidered fabric. The necklace portion is hand-sewn on upcycled satin ribbon. Except for the thread, everything in this necklace is enjoying a second life. In keeping with its shabby chic origins, the edges of the necklace are slightly frayed on purpose.

Each side of the V-neck portion is 7" long and just under 2" wide. The ribbon is 20" on each side, so there's plenty of room to play around and find the length that suits you best.
