It has been felted several times with large globular resists and small round sculptures embedded in the walls. This piece weighs approximately 15 pounds and is very substantial in size.
This picture is an example of the sculpture. The sculpture is currently available in a white merino wool and mustard merino wool and is shown in the 3rd-5th pictures.
My inspiration for this piece was anthropods/barnacles that live on hosts in the sea and make the most amazing textural clusters on ocean animals or surfaces.
The sculpture's opening on the top measures 20 inches by 18 inches. The exterior of the sculpture measures 27 inches by 32 inches including the barnacle forms. It measures approximately 13 inches high.
