A heaping tangle of new and recycled vintage chains, beads, rosary links, a vintage coral focal bead, dyed coral sticks, vintage glass, and howlite are combined to form this showstopping, one of a kind, beast of a necklace.
The chains are in a mix of hand-oxidized brass and copper tones. A large(1.5" wide) round vintage coral bead hangs like a harvest moon from one side. An asymmetrical swag of tangled beads and beautifully aged and patinated vintage chains swing from the center. Beads include; bright yellow glass rosary-linked beads, new apple green dyed howlite beads, deep red dyed coral "sticks", and a rich fringe of opaque white glass tube beads.
New, chunky, darkly oxidized brass chain completes the remainder of the necklace. The shortest strand is 18" long. The longest strand drops to 30", landing it right at the bust line on an average sized woman...SEXY!
Closes at the back of the neck with a new copper plated lobster claw clasp. A tiny, aged brass, vintage foreign coin adds interest to the closure.
This necklace is one of a kind, and is part of my limited edition "Urban Tribal" series.
As with all Savagesalvage designs, the majority of the objects that I use are recycled, repurposed, vintage and antique. They usually show signs of their past lives. They may have some discoloration, small chips, or patina from age. I feel that such imperfections lend authenticity to my one of a kind art jewelry. If you don't like things that look archaic and a bit worn, then my designs are probably not for you.
