Have you ever seen the full moon rise while the sun was still setting in the West? November 1st of 2009 I saw this amazing spectacle (minus the woman, of course) and created this painting just days later because I couldn’t get the image out of my mind.
The woman here is not a particular goddess, but a representation of our inner strength. She is rooted to the earth and stands in the powerful Warrior Yoga pose. Everything is suspended in a heightened moment right before change - the seasons of Autumn and Winter as well as the day and night are overlapping. Visually this kind of tension is beautiful but when we are in a similar moment of suspension in our personal lives it can be quite uncomfortable. The rooted woman’s message is to stay strong, to hold your position of power and purpose regardless of what is changing around or within you.
She is part of the Spiral Dance Collection which portrays the goddesses as a mix of human features and expressions of energy, which flow out from their hands and feet as spirals but can also be expressed through other elements associated with them. She is faceless so that each individual can imagine the features that they need to see in order to have a personal connection with her.
Image is 6 1/2 X 10 1/2 inches on 8 1/2 X 11 inch acid-free cardstock.
Each print will be signed and dated by the artist, and shipped in a protective sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailer.
